Does KARTACA have any branches and, if yes, in which districts or cities are they located ?


KARTACA currently has no established branches.


What is a technical translation, and what is a general translation?


To put in a general and simple definition; any translation project, which specifically requires field specialize, is referred to as a technical translation. General translations, on the other hand, include the projects, which may be completed by general knowledge.


Are there any universally applicable standards for translation and translation business?


Unfortunately, there is not a regulatory and/or supervisory authority in place for the activity of translation and translation businesses in our country. It is a known fact, though, that Turkish Institute of Standards (TSE) has been carrying out intensive endeavors toward the translation and the translation industry. Furthermore, the Association of Translation Companies, to which KARTACA is a member, maintains systematic research and development activities on the matter. On the other hand, the European Union has a comprehensive system and integrated standards in respect of the translation and translation businesses.


Is KARTACA’s deadline loyalty reliable? How often does KARTACA abide by its deadlines?


KARTACA does not make unreal or impossible commitments. For each project, primarily the urgent and large – volume demands, the potential worst case and force majeure scenarios are assessed. The process of translation, which depends on and is influenced by numerous factors, primarily the human factor, is, unfortunately subject to unintentional and undesirable delays. KARTACA provides its client with the most convenient deadline commitments thanks to the solution systems it has developed on the basis of its experiences. KARTACA, further, pulls his weight in respect of the delays it causes except for the cases of force majeure, which lead to incapacity to work.


Does KARTACA provide translation service before or after the working hours in order to meet our urgent service need?


Translation is a broadly labor – intensive, heavy duty activity. Therefore, KARTACA watches over its translators to evaluate their off times in the way they can rest; relax and get recreated instead of being occupied with translation. On the other hand, our full – time translator staff serves overtime duty on shift – basis in view of meeting the occasional, urgent service needs of our regular clients. Such occasions are subject to a particular pricing (generally, as 150 % of normal prices). The price difference is up to the size of and the duration allowed for the project.


The text I need to be translated had been translated before. What would the pricing approach be if I apply to KARTACA for the review and the revision along with several necessary modifications?


The final version of the text is compared and contrasted with the previously translated version in order to detect the differences. The previous translation’s accuracy and availability are considered. In the event of re – adaptation by minor corrections and modifications, the work is billed on half – price basis. However; in the event of additional translations, the charge is calculated on full – price basis. Any details related to such projects, including the pricing approach, are provided to you by an information report to be drawn up following the review of the text.


Does KARTACA submit sample trial translations for fresh clients; if yes, what is the price policy for trial translations?


KARTACA may submit sample trial translations up to 1000 characters for several languages free of charge upon request at the first time contact for fresh clients, which are intended to do business on regular basis and are in need for large volume translation service. Our expectation from the company or the individual, which or who requests a sample trial translation, is the communication of their needs for our service to KARTACA precisely in written form through the formal channels. The requesting parties should undertake on documentary basis that such sample trial translation will not be used for commercial purposes, that the concerned party will assess and review the translation on absolute basis and will communicate the results of such assessment and review to KARTACA in details and in writing.


Does KARTACA represent any confidentiality warranties for projects of confidential nature?


KARTACA provides its regular clients with official and binding confidentiality assurance on the basis of the requirements and the scope of business, in addition to the contract acknowledged. The projects of confidential nature are performed within the framework determined by mutual agreement.


What if we need an already completed translation project again in the afterward?


KARTACA provides translation archive maintenance service by client on agreement basis depending on request. However, in the event the content of a specific project is of confidential nature or such project is considered by the client to be inconvenient to be retained and kept, then the related texts are disposed upon delivery in accordance with the client’s consent. In either case, the action to be taken is determined on contractual basis. Any client of ours, which prefers to take advantage of the archive maintenance service, may and can receive any specific project by communicating either the order number or the invoice number or the delivery date along with the file name thereof to KARTACA.


How does KARTACA collect its billed amounts?


The payments of issued invoices are collected in cash against delivery or via bank transfer. Exclusive payment advantages are available for contracted, regular client. The payments of the charges related to notarization and associated processes are collected in cash.
